This was one of my first full-service projects and I had a lot of fun working on it! Colunas already had a web presence in place, but it had been a while since the last update. The customer wanted to retain the previous color scheme, general layout and the content breakdown.
Through feedback in the past, they had known that this worked, so there was no reason for them to fix something that wasn’t broken. In addition, their photography had also fallen behind and the pictures were not consistent in style. Essentially, this project served to update and add value to their current presence.
Web Design
We decided to go with an elegant design that not only promotes a high degree of professionalism, but at the same time gives a visual cue to the location of the business as a number of clients and prospects have an international background. The large image of the Altels, a mountain in the Bernese alps perfectly fit this criteria. This excellent shot was taken by the photographer Martin Hood and I had contacted him based off his profile at flickr. Some of the other features include but are not limited to:
- Content Management System (CMS Made Simple, although nowadays I’d use WordPress)
- Call to Action on the front-page
- sIFR text (in order to give that extra touch of elegance over the usual web fonts)
- Google Maps Integration
- Bilingual Website
Photography
This was a first for me with regards to corporate portraits & photography. The office setting was however a welcomed challenge! By making the shots black and white, we fell in line with the design of the website and also enhanced the subject matter.
Other services on this project included custom PDF design (1 page brochures) and an e-mail campaign.
